This 100 year old vise was purchased off EBay for $149 (April 2016) and aggressively cleaned/restored to be used on a newly constructed woodworking bench. W.C. Toles #40 with patents in 1894 and 1898. It is quick-release. This version allows only one turn of the handle. The quick release is activated when the yoke reaches a permanent stop and the flat area of the screw presents at the brass "quarter nut" within the housing. The only damage is a small fracture in the "quarter-nut" housing piece which is held in place with two round top bolts. The damage does not seem to effect the working of the vise. Also, the letter "C" is missing from the word C"hicago" cast into the front jaw. Please add any additional information you might have on the company or this specific device.
