Ash and Em see a solitary figure observing the city from the tallest building in the city and decide to investigate…
Ashur Kentoku: "So..you have a doll of yourself?" she ventures.
Emberen Twine blinks…"Nu. I made one FOR myself. I had to keep her hidden so that the mistresses or nuns wouldn’t take her from me."
Ashur Kentoku looks relieved. "Oh! Thats great! I mean, thats terrible!" She blinks. "So thats why you dislike the church huh?"
Ashur Kentoku: "I would too, if they took my dolls away from me…" she merrs. "Not that I had any!" she adds quickly.
Emberen Twine nods, returning to the search for split ends, finding one, then splitting it further until the hair divided and the smaller piece coiled with frustration. "Yes," She murrs with a sigh. "They wanted us to fight instead or exercise. Always in groups. And I never got to be with kids my own age. Always with the older ones who liked to bully me." She tosses the splintered end aside and begins looking for a new one to split. "The nuns were mean. And so were the brothers. They were only nice to eachother…respectively…and sometimes, I could tell even that was faked."
Ashur Kentoku listens, wondering why all the stories she hears about people raised in church-sponsored organizations were the same. Were there any decent orphanages out there at all? She casts a distasteful glance at the church over the street, thinking of all the times she’d slept in those towers, sheltered from the oustide world…"Seems not much has changed, judging from the way Eamon and his crew behave," she says, her voice thick with disgust…things were meshing together for her…the attitude of the Catwalkers and the Parish staff, all of it seeming to form a picture she hadn’t seen this clearly before.
Emberen Twine shrugs, following Ash’s gaze to the church. "Well, at least here, Sister D is nice. She is honestly nice. But…I don’t like priests. They scare me." She lets the section of hair fall from her fingers, bored with her quest. "I really haven’t seen this church staff do anything as cruel as what they did to us at the asylum…but then, I haven’t been watching all that closely either."
Ashur Kentoku: "And I don’t think you want to, either," Ash mews. "I’ve heard some stories…"
Emberen Twine looks up at her, her curiosity obviously bubbling. "What have you heard?’’
Ashur Kentoku: "That at least some of what we see is a front, to cover less Christian activities," she merrs. "But I’ve never pursued those rumours either. Perhaps I should have, because I see some link in the attitude they have toward others…the ‘walkers and the Parish crew." She shrugs.
Emberen Twine: "It would be interesting to see what defines ‘less christian activities’. Also, we know that they aren’t nearly as pious as they claim to be. I mean…We know that the good father is fucking the Matron. And just yesterday I saw Mikos working on seducing Sister D. Although, I have to tell you…she really was naive to it all. But I felt a couple of times…he actually got somewhere with her. Unfortunately for him…I think he is actually weak for her. So it will be interesting to see who converts who." She giggles. "They are all just people…regardless of their stations in life. Once you take the higher power out of the equation…you just have a bunch of…well..sinners, as they like to call it."
Ashur Kentoku nods…"Well, if they were sinning at more than what you described it wouldnt surprise me none. Reminds me…I saw Eamon and Elise in the tower snuggling again yesterday. Even crept close enough to hear what they were saying but became quickly nauseated and left." She gives a lop-sided smile and makes a face.
Emberen Twine giggles. "Yeah…I don’t see how people who supposedly believe in what Christians do…can follow a priest who is breaking one of the rules of his station! It has nothing to do with how nice or not nice he may be."
Ashur Kentoku: "Good Christians dont ask questions," she merrs. "Neither do good Catwalkers. Hard to tell them apart these days, mmmm?"
Emberen Twine rolls a shoulder, feeling as though they are being watched. She turns to scan the roof tops catching sight of the lone figure in the distance before nodding to Ash’s statement. "Yes…they do seem to have that in common," she murrs.
Ashur Kentoku follows her gaze. "Want to go speak to that one?" she mews. "It’ll be a difficult jump-and-climb…or we can use the elevator!"
Emberen Twine blinks and turns back around to Ash. "There is an ellevator," she mews with surprise. It shouldn’t be that surprising given the height of the building, but…she had never thought about it before. "that’s the one roof I can’t get to!"
Ashur Kentoku: "Most can’t, which is why he’s up there no doubt."
Emberen Twine shrugs and offers a devilish grin. "He should be welcomed," she mews with a nod. "And not by Catwalkers!"
Ashur Kentoku smiles…"As far as we can go with the elevator, then climb-jump the rest of the way if needs be!" She moves off…

Ashur Kentoku approaches the figure, making sure to make sounds as she does so…..
Emberen Twine hangs back, taking in his energy and not feeling particularly threatened.
Ashur Kentoku: "Good day," she mews. "I hope we’re not interrupting?"
Golyth Carillon twitches and ear to his right and shakes his head. His tail flicking about slowly behind him as he doesn’t make a move to acknowledge thier pressence. "Interrupting what exactly? I’m up here alone on a building staring at the ants below."
Emberen Twine grimaces at the moody response. "Quiet time can be interrupted, " she mews softly.
Ashur Kentoku smiles…"Well, these two ants saw you and decided to come say hello. Glad we’re not interrupting anything then. I’m Ash, and this is my sister Ember."
Golyth Carillon chuckles softly and rolls his shoulders some. "I know who you are Ash but that’s besides the point." He turns to face them, mask covered face and all while his eyes flicker softly in the failing light of the roof top. "Evening to you both, enjoying your walks I take it?"
Emberen Twine feels a smile break across her lips as he chuckles. That’s more of what she was expecting. She remains silent for now, letting her smile speak for her as her eyes study him.
Ashur Kentoku raises an eyebrow. "You know who I am…and its not besides the point. Not for me." She tilts her head, brushing at the errant strands that plague her. "Have we met personally? Or have you been told about me?"
Golyth Carillon chuckled again and reached into his jacket under his scarf and pulled out a chain covered in various dogtags, one of them being a old and dusty Pack badge and the other a worn tag with the old Catwalker sign on it. He grins and dangles it before his face some. "You could say we’ve met in a fashion but not formally." He slides the chain back into his jacket and folds his arms over his chest before tilting his head some and looking at them both.
Emberen Twine’s eyes dart between the two, her serene smile unwavering save for the hint of curiosity.
Ashur Kentoku smiles suddenly and nods…"You were around long ago…with Rith, when she was Matron. You’re one of the old ones." She looks genuinely pleased for some reason, almost surprising herself. "Its like a reunion, watching all the old-timers crawl out of the woodwork. All I have to do to find one, it seems, is look toward places I would go to…and here you are!" She looks him up and down, ears alternately perking and flattening.
Emberen Twine creeps closer to Ash, her eyes never leaving the male.
Golyth Carillon nods his head slowly while his eyes dart back and forth between them. His tail sways slowly behind him as his ears twitch some hearing different noises in the air. "Yeah.. some of us are still around and what not.. I haven’t spoken to any of them with the exception of Rith who’s looking after my kitten." His eyes look to the feline behind her and he smiles some before speaking "Sister eh…adopted or birth? Hard to imagine any of us with siblings let alone kittens of our own."
Emberen Twine: "Chosen," she offers.
Ashur Kentoku nods at Em’s words. "I’ve seen some…Rith…Chai, now you. I thought…" and she hesitates…"that Rith was dead."
Golyth Carillon shrugs his shoulders some. "She is dead.. in a sense but to each their own I guess.. doesn’t matter to me.. she keeps my Seren safe and looks after her while I do what I do here.." He blinks his blackend eyes a few times and nods "Well it’s good to have family I guess.. mines gone now so all I have left is my daughters to take care of…guess it’s a good thing this place hasn’t changed much."
Ashur Kentoku laughs, a mirthful sound quickly carried away by the winds gusting across the rooftop, this high place. "It’s changed more than you think, but yes, its still mostly the same." Her pale eyes glint with some inner fire and she mews, "Yes, Family…." and she accents it the way most Catwalkers do when speaking of the Pride, "is good to have, but a family….you can trust is better. I’m sorry but I don’t know much of your relations…you mentioned your daughters and…a kitten?"
Emberen Twine smiles at Ash’s words, her eyes still lingering on the male in their study.
Golyth Carillon nods his head some and looks around some before letting his eyes fall back on her. "Aye… my mate chose to leave our family so now I’m raising our kitten by myself and my adopted daughter is in her teens so she is able to look after herself to a certain extent.. but other than that it’s just me in town for now." He catches the typical sound of a Catwalker talking about the "family" but casts it aside like he has done so many times in the past year or so.
Ashur Kentoku’s eyes begin to glaze as he talks of family relations, not being able to connect all that well with the concepts. "Uhuh…and Rith is looking for her. I’m not sure what you mean by Rith being…dead in a sense, but I won’t press the matter if you don’t want to talk about it." She tilts her head again, an expectant look developing, nonetheless.
Emberen Twine’s eyes study intently, very much the opposite of Ash’s lost connection. She cants her head, ears perked with interest as Ash questions him, taking in more than words, focusing on energy and tone.
Golyth Carillon tilts his head some and looks at her curiously. "Rith is looking for who exactly?" His ears twitch some again hearing noise from the street level but he paid it very little attention while his eyes focused on Ash. "It’s not a question of talking about it.. it’s more of what does one ask when speaking of some one who lied to many of us and then came back as if nothing had happened… In the case of her watching over my little one she is doing me a favor I can not do at the moment..".
Ashur Kentoku nods slowly…"Ah…she looking AFTER, not for, your kitten. And…well, why not ask her what I asked you? ‘Hey Rith, arent you supposd to be dead?’ Its easy…mmm..then again, this is Rith, and nothing is easy with her." She looks away, over the city, the glittering lights lulling her concentration for a moment, her thoughts going back…a long way. "I hope the daycare she provides makes up in some way for the lies you spoke of," she mews, still looking out over the city.
Golyth Carillon chuckles lightly and nods "Nothing can make up being lied to but she gets the job done I guess.. My kitten doesn’t go hungry nor does she have to suffer the issues of Midian for now." He shakes his head some and grins playfully before speaking "We don’t speak much except when it comes to my daughter."
Emberen Twine breaks her gaze for a moment, pondering the grin paired with the statement and wondering. She shakes her head and looks at him once more.
Ashur Kentoku: "Sounds like a…strange, possibly tense situation….does she fulfil any…"and she stops herself. She takes a breath and continues…"I hope you and your kittens find some peace here, as much as can be expected from a place like this." She says it while looking at him. "I don’t know what your plans are in this place, but be warned there are those who suspect the worst from you and the other old ones…Keep your kittens safe! They’re still…innocent."
Golyth Carillon nods and would smirk some under his mask but they wouldn’t be able to see it. "I’ve been made aware of the humans continued treatment of our kind Ash.. unless you speak of other problems I might should know about.. As to my kittens.. they are forbidden to set foot inside the city unless I am present with them so thier safety is ok for now." He looks at both of them while his tail flicks about wildly behind him as he tries to wonder who or what might be worse than the humans.
Ashur Kentoku: "Its not the humans Im speaking of," she says, and waves a hand in the air. "Its the Catwalkers. They suspect Rith and those like you to be….to be wanting a return to the old ways? I’m not sure. I don’t….get along well with them, but I know they suspect this. And…" she smiles…"they suspect me of it too. I was asked questions about Rith…they want to know my involvement. That’s the level of heir paranoia."
Ashur Kentoku: "As amusing as I find it, its also annoying. I dont want those innocent of involvement in the ‘walkers past to be hurt." She gestures at Ember. "Not my sister, nor your kittens."
Golyth Carillon rolls his head along his collarbone poping several joints before his eyes meet Ash’s again. His tail still flicking about behind him as he sighs softly "They’ve been like that ever since Mari came back to town and started a bunch of crap even before this current Matron took over, thank god for that cause I couldn’t take much more of Tober running things. But anyways.." he pauses for a moment before continuing "It’s not our fault, us old timers I mean, that we liked things the way they were.. not this current creation that infests the city.. inter specices breeding, conversing with humans in a half happily way.. It’s gross to me and makes our kind look weak.. it always has." He shrugs and looks at them both curiously "But who can change the world.. I can only look after mine and take care of them the best I can."
Ashur Kentoku nods. "Yes, you can. We…all do what we believe is best at the time, and hope we can adapt to changes that come after. Because all cycles end with the beginning of a new one…I think I told Rith that once, too." She sighs and blinks, her recently healed wounds taking their toll again…suddenly she’s tired. "It was…a pleasure to speak to you…I, I don’t even know your name…" her voice trails off.
Golyth Carillon chuckles and shakes his head from side to side. "It’s Golyth… for now just Golyth.. as I have not truly reclaimed my proper name but that’ll happen sooner than later if things are this bad off for people of the old times." His tail sways slower now as he grins some under his mask, his eyes flickering again as he looked at them both.
Ashur Kentoku smiles again. "Golyth! It was…interesting. I have to go rest now….perhaps we’ll meet again. Good night and…peace." She steps back, and turns to go, resting a hand on Em’s arm as she does so….
Emberen Twine smiles to Ash but toddles towards him, an impish grin spreading across her face. She leans into him and gives a sniff sniff before bringing her eyes to meet his. "Be safe Golyth." she mews before returning to Ash and heading off the roof.
Golyth Carillon simply nodded his head as they started to walk off. "I’m sure we’ll see each other again soon. Have a plesant evening."
Ashur Kentoku tailwaves and walks off, trying to focus on her bed….
