Have You Ever Wondered How To Get Facebook Likes and Use Them To Your Advantage?

For those of you who want to find out how to get Facebook likes, this article will prove to be a golden nugget. So, is there life after a like on Facebook? Don’t be surprised if I tell you that yes, there is – and plenty of it!

If you bare with me until the end of this article, not only will you find out how to get those much-desired likes (and how to increase your number of followers, of course), but you will also discover ways to leverage those followers to your advantage.

Shortly put, in the first part you will get all the info you need to start collecting ’em likes, and in the second part you will learn how to convert an inactive follower into a fruitful lead.

Are you ready… ?

Part one – Proven Ways To Get ’em Likes!

  • Add a Facebook widget on your blog

I love the wild web out there. I simply do. What I don’t love, however, is reading an incredibly well-written article and not being able to share it and show it to my friends on Facebook. It’s a pity, really…

Don’t do this mistake. Don’t be among those people who cannot keep track of their articles’ shares and likes and who don’t give their readers the opportunity to make your articles go viral.

A Facebook widget is perhaps one of the best things that you can do in this matter. You can either add it at the beginning of your article, at the end of it, or in a ‘flying box’ on the right hand part of your article. This way you make it easy for people to share your content and you can also keep track of the social activity your article generated.

Cool, huh? Hush, there’s more about how to get Facebook likes…

  • Add a signature tool like WiseStamp

With WiseStamp you put your emails to work. As the name suggests, using this tool you can create awesome email signatures. Awesome… ? Yes! You can include not only your name and email address, but also small icons of social media platforms.

And guess what? Facebook is not the only one you can add. You can also include your Twitter account, your G+ profile, your LinkedIn address and even your RSS feed!

This way all those who receive an email from you have the opportunity to view your social media profiles and become a follower.

Still not enough info about how to get Facebook likes? Well…

  • You can also create a contest

Facebook contests are among the most used features of the social network.

Pay attention, though! The popular ‘Like and Share’ contests are illegal. Not many know this, but there are plenty of people who have woken up one morning and saw their official pages closed. Forever! And this was all because they encouraged followers to like and share in order to win something. So this is not a good answer on how to get Facebook likes…

For you to be able to host a contest on Facebook, you will have to resort to Facebook Adds. They’re great and I’m sure you’ll love them.

  • Ask your friends to like your page

Perhaps the easiest way to increase the activity on your official page is to invite your friends to like your page. They know you personally, so they know you’re an amazingly innovative person who shares cool stuff – so they will like your page.

The downside to this solution on how to get Facebook likes is that they are not necessarily an ‘active’ audience, meaning that they are not 100% interested in your activity. Maybe they are curious, but many of them are not the ‘hungry for a solution’ type of followers.

  • Ask your email list to like your page

So you have these clients in your email list and you keep in touch with them from time to time. You are on the right track but… what about having a more engaging conversation with your clients and prospects?

You know what would be really awesome? A daily conversation where they get to know you better, where they get to know you even on a personal level.

Here’s a secret: you can do this. Send them an email with an invitation to join you on Facebook! What are you waiting for?

  • Add the link to your business card

Business cards – how traditional, right? But you can add a flavour of contemporaneity to it by making it virtual.

Include all your online information on it. Like, for example, your website address, your email address and… your Facebook URL. It’s really easy to increase the number of followers if you know how to get Facebook likes, right?

If you want to go the extra mile, you can create a QR code for your website and your Facebook page and include them on your business card. This way people can access them directly from their smartphones.

  • Add your Facebook link to your “Thank You” pages

Another cool idea is to include your Facebook URL in your Thank You pages. If you made a sale, or simply you have a new subscriber to your newsletter list, it is good for them to know they can stay in touch with you through Facebook.

  • Include your Facebook page in your blog comments

Maybe a person likes your comment and thinks of it as being thoughtful. So they will want to find out more about you. And often times, a search on Google is too much to ask… So why not include a link to your Facebook page in your comments on blogs? It’s a cool way to increase your audience and to keep them updated!

Part two – Going from Likes to Leads in one simple step

Now that you know how to get Facebook likes, let’s see what you can do with them.

I am going to share with you one of my secret ingredients that gets me more leads than any other method. To be honest, I am amazed that there are not that many people already using it, because it is THE gold mine of leads. It is a strategy that I have been using for a long time and it is working like crazy – all the time, 24-7!

All you need to do is just include on your Facebook page those pages from your website where you offer free goodies. This is also done using Facebook Apps, but it’s so simple to do, you’ll be able to do it with your eyes closed.

Tip: Facebook does not allow unsecured websites to use the Apps feature. This means you will have to have a https:// kind of hosting.

Bonus tip: Boost posts can help you increase the impact of your posts. They will cost you a little extra money, but the bright side is that you have complete control over how much you want to spend. Nothing more, nothing less! And leads will come… like bees to honey!

Now, as always, I want to hear from you! Tell me…

Do you know other answers to this article’s question, “How to get Facebook likes”? What did you try lately and didn’t work or.. did work?

How much time do you spend per week to increase your Facebook likes? Is it worth it or you don’t see any results by now?

Do you have any other tips, tricks, suggestions, or stories that would help everyone else who’s reading?

Let’s talk about it in the comments below. I can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to share about how to get Facebook likes!

Did you enjoy what you just read?

Then I have a suggestion for you: share this article with your friends.

How To Make An Android App Using Appmakr Software

Appmakr is free software that allows people to make iOS and Android apps. The good side with the software is that you don’t need to have coding skills to use it.

Another advantage is that the software is easy to use. To use it you need to go to Appmakr’s official website and enter the name of the app that you want to create. You should then click on “get started” and sign into the site using your Gmail, Facebook, twitter, or yahoo account.

After signing in you should fill in the details on the first page. Some of the information that you need to fill on this page include: name, color and design, background image and splash-screen image of the app.

If you don’t want to use the design or image on the site you can upload your own. When uploading your image you should ensure that the image has the right dimensions. The ideal dimensions are: 768 pixels wide X 1024 pixels high.

Once you have provided this information you should click on the “next” button and you will be taken to a page where you will need to enter the functions of the app.

Some of the functions that you need to enter are: calendar and community functions. To set the calendar function you need to find the iCal link and copy it.

You should go back to the machine and click on the events drop down menu. You should drag the calendar icon to the phone interface area and then paste iCal link in the URL field. After doing this you should save your work.

Community is a function that allows users of the same app to post shout outs and leave messages for everyone involved with the community feature. Many people liken it to the Facebook wall.

To set this function you need to click and drag the community icon and then personalize the it with your own icon, page background and your welcome message. You should then save your work once everything is in order.

Once you have customized the app you should now publish it. You can publish on Android and HTML5 platforms for free or you can publish on Appmakr’s mobile market for $1/month. If you have money to spend, you can publish on all platforms (iPhone, HTML 5 and Android) for $9 per month.

After publishing you should download the app from the QR or URL code provided.

Digital Marketing Strategy

With new Search Engine Guidelines and Rules, 2013 poses a great opportunity for businesses to strengthen their online presence dramatically. Since July 2013, the old SEO rules do not apply in the same way. Now is your best time to commit to a digital marketing plan that will work for your business. With Google allowing its Hummingbird to spread its wings, companies using good marketing tactics will reap the rewards in time. Below is a list of key factors for all companies to integrate into their online list of things to do. You should also keep a list of sites, emails and passwords used for everything you do. Trust me, when you get to a certain level, you will be glad to have the list. You should also keep track of results for each aspect of marketing. Something simple to be able to check for improvements on a monthly basis, and check on your return on time invested.

1. Onsite Optimisation & Keyword Research

Make sure your website is well designed. A nice mix of headers, text and images are required to comply with SEO thinking. Aim for about 300 words in the copy of the text, make sure headings are tagged as H1, and all images are named correctly. This will all help the search engines associate your site with what people are searching for. With access to the code of your site, create a site map, create accounts for both Google and Bing webmaster tools and submit your site to both directories with the sitemap.

Then focus on how your site appears in search engines. Use a Digital SWOT analysis of your business, and focus on relevant Keyword Generation, Meta Tag creation, Title Tag Creation and Home Page Re-invention to maximise your visibility for your potential customers.

This first step will improve your results instantly. You will see a great return on the investment within a couple of short months.

2. Offsite Optimisation, Links & Backlinks

Offsite works are an equally important part of a strong digital marketing campaign. The focus of offsite optimisation is to have the internet point and look at you. Aim to connect your website to high ranking existing websites. Google Rank of 5 or above and High Alexa traffic ranks are what to look for. Avoid sites that have more ads on the pages than content.

Social Media Basics: Include in your plan to create business profile pages on the 5 most visited social sites: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest. Each business page should have links to your website, and links from your website to these pages in return. Each page should be set up with content about your business, text and images, contact details and opening hours. You should also invest time in relevant pages/links/circles etc to get you going with followers and supporters.

Social Media Extras: In addition to the top 5 sites, you can also choose extra social media sites to be a part of, which will really set you apart from the competition. The best of the rest: includes Tumblr, Stumbleupon, Foursquare, Squidoo and Instagram.

Depending on the level of involvement with social media, you may need professional assistance keeping on top of them all. Ideally, each social media avenue needs 45 minutes to 1 hour per week, to update with fresh content, and to network out across the platforms, getting new followers, likes and links.

Backlink Strategy: It is important these days to focus on quality, rather than quantity when it comes to backlinks. Depending on your business, different links will work for some and not for others. An important start is to get listed will local directories and also focus on your competitors links. Search for ‘free online directories’ in Google, and a list of website submission directories should appear to you. Take some time to fill them in and submit. Bear in mind, some take longer than others to be processed, so keep a list of what has been accepted and what is still being processed. Some directories offer paid features. These can be good features, but make sure to do some homework and use the best value option for an appropriate return on investment. I have come across cases where 1 directory in particular gives free website business links, and offers minimal paid services to promote your social media, and a full package including a homepage with SEO features on their sites for less money in a year than it costs to rent a domain and hosting package combined. It also helps you by association to use their existing ranking to your benefit for your keywords. You can go even further and also seek out like minded businesses, suppliers, agents, users etc that your business deals with on a daily basis, and start a dialogue to each promote each other’s websites through a backlink. In this case, there is strength in numbers, and a credible link will serve you both well.

3. Video:

The next best way to promote your business is to create a video to highlight your products and offerings. The availability and popularity of sites like YouTube and Vimeo make it a must have to be involved in. Get a 2 -3 minute video created on your behalf, load it to YouTube and embed it into your site is the best place to start. While publishing videos may not directly earn money, clever businesses use video marketing as a tactic to improve consumer engagement, click-through, and traffic. They also help to bring in search traffic since the major search engines started ranking videos in their results pages. Including video in emails increases open rates by 5.6% and click-through-rates by 96.38% when compared to standard email marketing. Videos have a 50 times better chance of ranking within the first page Google for their respective keywords. They also increase traffic for businesses when they are shared. There is always opportunity to go viral.

4. Mobile Sites And Apps:

Typically, most websites are made between 900 & 1000 pixels wide. No surprise, but they are designed to be viewed on computer screens. Smartphone’s usually want to view sites around the 350 pixels area. If you don’t have a responsive design to accommodate the screen size the site is being viewed on, it will look awful, and the viewer will move on. Test your site by clicking here. An App or a Mobile site are a fantastic way of getting your existing website to this generation of how the internet is seen – the mobile phone. Apps are very cool, but can be expensive to produce. The app marketplace is growing, and creating involves a full re contenting of your existing website. Apps vary in size, cost and function. A mobile version of your site and mobile technology such as SMS and QR Codes can reach the same market. Using directory sites, your mobile site will be found easy and be more usable for the end user, your client. Using the same code as your website, a single mobile website can reach users across many different types of mobile devices, whereas native apps require a separate version to be developed for each type of device. Mobile website URLs are easily integrated within other mobile technologies.

5. Fresh Quality Content and Blogging:

Write, write and write. Increasingly, search engines place a lot of faith in any new movement they can track. Creating and adding fresh content to your existing site qualifies as this. When the bots and spiders visit your site, if there is new content to report, the search engines will take this as a positive. If you run a site as a blog, of course with new posts you are adding fresh content. It is assumed that the content and quality of the blogs is in your own hands. Remember to write both original and quality material. Do not copy and paste someone else’s work just for the sake of having something new to publish. That undermines the legitimate process. If you like what someone else has done, like it and give them a public share and credibility. If you cannot write enough fresh material, you can seek out guest authors, who will gladly write for you in exchange for credit. If you run a business site, and have no interest in inserting a blog for content, a few points to look out for on your site are simple things to correct. Make sure you have a copyright someone where on the home page. Make sure the dates and years are correct. New customers are more likely to use business websites when it is clear that the sites are being maintained and have the current years listed in their copyright. Get into the habit of checking your own website frequently, searching for any aspects of the content that could be updated. At the very least, integrate a Facebook or twitter sharable links and an email link if possible. This will help you get your content shared across the web without you having to do it. Other visitors will do it for you if they like what they see.

5 Tips to Achieve Measurable Results From Direct Mail Marketing Campaigns

Effective direct mail marketing brings new leads and more business; good results and return on investment are possible. While online campaigns are getting a lot of buzz, the growth in technology has not hindered direct mail marketing. Instead, the opportunities are now enhanced. Here we lay out 5 ways you can implement a successful direct marketing campaign that will generate leads.

1. Provide a Link to Your Website

You may be using traditional paper (mass and/or trade print) advertising, but that does not mean you can’t integrate this into your online marketing campaigns. Not only should you provide a link to your website in your direct mail piece, but you can also provide an incentive to do so, such as a coupon placed on a specific page that the URL links to. This page can also include a sign-up form for your email mailing list, offering future company news, coupons, and discounts.

Keep in mind modern consumers are more likely to find your company through an online search. Anything you put in print advertising can be duplicated online, to reach a different audience.

2. Enhance the Presentation

With email marketing, you are limited solely to a single sentence in the subject line, and no matter how strong your headline, it’s possible that it will be viewed as spam and end up never being seen. In a print advertisement, you can incorporate eye-catching logos or pictures, or use your company’s colors to make the piece stand out – all visible with one glance. A compelling message and graphics makes it less likely that your ad will end up in a recycling bin.

You can mix your advertisement up with fonts of different sizes and styles to showcase the particular areas of graphics and copy you want to emphasize. Depending on the piece and packaging, you could even offer a small promotional item that would be useful – such as sticky notes, pens, letter openers, and anything else the recipient might use when they most likely would think of your product.

3. Make the Content Personal to the Consumer

Take the time to study and learn about your target customer, and then customize your message with offers and information that would appeal specifically to them – right down to the packaging. Your content should directly address their needs, desires, and concerns. You can even further segment your recipients and send different pieces (with adjusted content) based on each segment. Don’t forget to include a powerful and compelling call to action, as well as an easy way to get more information and/or contact you.

4. Work With Other Companies

Consider product placements on TV and in movies. The product supplier is paying for the opportunity to “star” in a TV show. They do this not just for increased visibility, but also for the direct access to the viewing audience – an audience that already uses similar products and already has an established level of loyalty to the show.

Partnerships between companies are all around us, from the release of a movie (and subsequent merchandise) to the box of brownie mix you buy that showcases a certain name-brand chocolate syrup from another company on its box.

Small businesses can do this, too. A product or service purchase can result in a coupon or discount for a partner company who, in turn, provides the same or similar service for the primary company. This helps promoting both businesses while saving advertising dollars on both sides in the long run.

5. Connect With Your Other Marketing Campaigns

Combining your direct mail marketing program with other channels, such as social media or email marketing, allows for multiple “touches” and an expanded audience. A great example are those mailers you receive that are filled with coupons. Many of these companies concurrently advertise these offers on social media and via email to stimulate interest. A prospective customer may toss the paper coupon but notice the email from the business and take action (or vice-versa).

Another option is to use personalized URLs (PURLs) on your direct mail pieces. Your printed piece provides a link to a webpage (and/or a QR code) that would be set up specifically for that individual (or segment). When the recipient visits this page, they see a personal greeting and information specifically customized just for them.

In order for your cross-media marketing campaign to be most effective, make sure that your message is consistent across all channels, meaning that all offers and claims about your business are the same in every “location”.

There is no doubt that email promotions and online marketing have their benefits, but direct mail marketing is not just a thing of the past. It is still a rewarding strategy to reach a widespread client base and draw attention to your products and/or services. Consider these tips to make your direct mail marketing efforts more productive.

4 Misconceptions Of Print Media Buying You Must Know

In today’s age, the print advertising is believed to be one of the most prosperous industries. Print advertising can be extremely effective and targeted approach to connecting with new customers. Unluckily, there are a lot of myths of print advertisements that stop a lot of brands from espousing and understanding how it can foster them. Let us shed light on the four untruths that hamper the print media buying by making falsehood viral.

Four Lies regarding the Print Media Buying

Lie #1: Print advertisements are costly

A lot of people have illusions that print media marketing is high-priced. Since printing and production expenses are not visible in digital advertising, print advertising seems to be a costly alternative. The agencies, particularly in print, can negotiate much more than those that you find in the catalog. During circulation numbers might not be precise, they give a clear idea of how many consumers are reached which provides a better analysis of the sales and prospective earning from your advertisement.

Lie #2: Print media do not help with precise targeting

Since social media online outlets have emerged, such as Facebook, a lot of promoters carry out advertising online considering that they can highly target their intended audience. Although they should walk cautiously. Picking print to advertise your service/ product may truly be more productive because you can select in what magazine your ad would make an appearance depending upon the demographic information that you have gathered. Not as digital advertising where each click isn’t always a sale, in direct print advertising often requires a customer to call, which is more persuasive than an automatic click.

Lie #3 Customer requires to do a lot of elbow greasing in Print media advertising

A lot of marketers might allege that due to form, print requires customers to take additional effort that they do not have to take with digital advertising. For instance, when the customer perceives the print ad, for getting more information they do not have a link to click but have QR codes which often attempt to compensate for this. Although what these marketers don’t understand is that print is a more fruitful approach to advertising as it demands a more personal communication, something numerous customers still find worthy. Moreover, a lot of print publicists address directly which indicates that they generally have full information and often provide concessions when consumers make that call.

Lie #4 Print Media is dead

You might have over and over again heard from diverse sources that print is dead or that it is on the waning. The true fact is that 91% of grown up read magazines, with 96% of those magazines reaching customers below the age group of 25 (according to the survey stats 2014). If you wish to successfully connect with your audience and make an impression, the print should be a substantial aspect of your media campaign.

Mobile Apps For Business – The Power Is in the PUSH

Thinking about launching a Mobile App for your business? If not now, when?

Now is the time to ride this wave of opportunity.

We all know as Entrepreneurs and Business Owners that in order to stay competitive in today’s marketplace, you need to position your business to take advantage of emerging trends. Mobile Marketing is NOT in the future, it’s NOW!

Did you know that statistics show mobile consumers have their phone or mobile devices within 3 feet of them 23 hours a day? Just think about the opportunity you have before you to have YOUR business on your clients or prospects mobile device 23 hours a day / 365 days out of the year? Now that my friends is what I call OPPORTUNITY! I don’t know any other marketing medium that has the same power to instantly get the attention for your target market.

What do you think the average response or open rate is today with email marketing? Unless you have a super responsive and active list, you will only see 4% – 9% open rates within the first 24-48 hours of you pushing the send button. Mobile push or text messages are seen and opened 97% of the time within the first 4 minutes. Now that is impressive! Just think about your own mobile behavior, or heck just look around you.

Consumer expectation is that every “Brand” has an app they can download and access on their mobile device.

We are often asked the question, “Why should I have a mobile app?” Here are just a few reasons why you should have one:

  • Builds customer loyalty. Everyone likes to feel included in something special, so make customers feel like VIPs by offering discounts, coupons, and promotions just for using and downloading the app.
  • Creates a viral buzz. Encourage customers to use the mobile app to quickly tell all of their friends about the business using the built-in sharing capabilities of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, your blog, SMS, and Email.
  • Grow customer lists. A mobile app can gather names and email addresses from directly within the app and easily export them into the top email marketing campaign services to be used in additional emails.
  • Get instant feedback. Mobile apps allow customers to leave feedback on fan walls, share photos, and send comments in a variety of ways.

What is an App? An App is an application that has to be downloaded and installed on a mobile device, rather than being rendered within a browser. Users visit device-specific portals such as Apple’s App Store, and the Android Google Play Market in order to find and download apps for a given operating system. An app provides an interactive engagement with users and works more like a computer program than a website.

The app may pull content and data from the Internet, in similar fashion to a website, or it may download the content so that it can be accessed without an Internet connection.

It is expected that by mid-2012 more people will be accessing the internet on their mobile devices than on PC’s. With that in mind, it cannot be emphasized enough the importance of having one’s business or service seen properly across all the different mobile platforms otherwise you will lose business.

What better way for your business to stay in touch with your customers than with your own customized mobile application!

Do you have clients and customers that you want to communicate and stay in touch with? If so, what is the best way to do that and get responsive results? The clear choice is through Mobile Apps.

I’ve put together my top ten tips to ensure your app success:

1. Determine your Objective

Are you looking for sales, brand awareness, social media engagement or to stay in constant contact and in front of your clients and prospects?

As Entrepreneurs and Business Owners it’s easy for us to get distracted and become overwhelmed with all our responsibilities and otherwise great ideas. Be sure when developing your mobile marketing strategy that it aligns with your core message, and resonates with your viewing audience.

2. Integrate Social Sharing Features

We all know and understand the power of social engagement, and social sharing features of our information. All of your social sites can be integrated into your Mobile App which will insure and increase your brand awareness.

3. Keep Your App and its content up to date

Just as important as updating a blog, your app must be updated with relevant and engaging content. You need to keep the end user engaged, or just as quickly as they downloaded your app, they can remove it.

4. Integrate interactive and events features

Provide up-to-date information about all of your business events and specials by creating an events calendar. Whether you conduct live events or virtual events online, you will want to keep your new users engaged and in-the-know of what you’re doing, where you’re doing it, and how they can participate. We are social creatures by nature, and want this information available at our fingertips..literally!

5. Create Loyalty / VIP Programs

You will want to incentivize your subscribers, and give them a reason not only to download your app, but to also keep it on their mobile device. It’s very simple to create Loyalty or VIP programs, and your clients and prospects will LOVE you for it.

6. Develop an effective Mobile Marketing Strategy

It’s not if you build it they will come… You need to prepare your marketing plan prior to the launch of your new App in the App Stores. This will include, but is definitely not limited to:

  • Be sure to send an email notification to your subscribers with URL links to the Apple and Android (Google Play) Marketplaces. So they can download it. Don’t forget to incentivize them in some way for doing so!
  • Create QR Codes that link directly to your App (QR Codes are 2-dimensional black and white squares that contains a url or specially coded message that your phone’s camera along with QR Scanner Software will decode for you.)
  • Social Network promotions… oh this can be a great tool!!!
  • Keyword research for your App is just as important as for your website. As you build your App, or have a developer do it for you, determine what your keywords will be as well as the description for your App. These are both extremely important as they are two of the more permanent features of your App and will immediately assist you in generating new clients and leads when done correctly.

7. Create Raving Fans

It’s very important to create an opportunity for your App users to feel as though they are part of your community. Remember the Social Sharing feature? Well this is just as important. What if at your next event, you gave your App users the ability to upload their photos from the event, or even write on your App fan wall? We have seen it time and time again on Social Networks how important this is, in fact it’s a must!

8. Track your progress with in-App Analytics

You want to be sure you have a way to track the downloads of your App in the App Stores/Markets. Tracking the number of downloads is important as you prepare for future promotions, as well as revenue streams from advertising opportunities. The more downloads you have, the more valuable you are to advertising partners. This is a great way to help monetize your app!

9. YES… The Power IS in the PUSH!!!!

Here’s the most important feature of all… PUSH Notifications! This is very similar to sending out an email notification, but is much more effective. Remember you will have a 97% open rate within the first few minutes of sending it. You can send out notices immediately, or schedule them to go out on a particular day, and time you set.

The push notification will show up on a mobile device just like a text message would. These are delivered to everyone who has downloaded your app on their mobile device. They are displayed on smartphones and iPads/Tablets. The message will be displayed on the home screen of the phone or tablet literally the moment you press “Send”.

One word of caution though… Do NOT over use the Push Notification feature. This can be interpreted at SPAM, so please don’t abuse it. Treat your new App Subscribers just like you would your email list and provide value first, then create the hunger and desire for your products and services and the sales will naturally follow.

10. Promote, Promote, Promote!

Once your App is completed and published in the App Stores, you will need to get busy promoting your new marketing tool! Your app will not download itself to other mobile devices, so you will need to be proactive in the marketing and promotion of your new App. Now is the time to get in front of potential clients and customers.

Enroll the help of marketing partners to promote your new App, and yes even your friends and family, and most importantly don’t forget about your existing client base. They are already your RAVING FANS!

In order for your App to be successful and provide you a great new way to market to your audience, you must be willing to follow the steps listed above.

Don’t forget the golden rule of marketing: People buy from People, and those they Know, Like and Trust! Having a mobile app for your business will help expand your “Brand!”

Isn’t it time to share your expertise and reach your mobile consumers before your competition? It’s your responsibility to make it easy for them to connect with you!

The possibilities for your Mobile App are endless.

QR Code Research

I have to make frequent visits from where I’m currently living in Northern Thailand to Bangkok. The bus is the best option for me. Unfortunately, it’s a 10 hour one-way trip. That means I have to keep my self entertained. But with today’s technology, it’s easy to do. For example, the Oishi green tea juice box I was given by the bus service contained a QR code.

On the box it was referred to as an “AR Technology” Code. I took AR as being “Augmented Reality”. That’s a bit misleading but maybe that’s what the company that Oishi uses refers to QR as. By the way, QR is short for “Quick Response”.

I’ve known about QR codes but have never really looked at them other then identifying them on various products. I had yet to go as far as to actually take a picture of the code and see what information it contains. It’s just not too popular back in the States yet and the products that had codes I wasn’t interested in. But I had lots of free time, so I decided to check it out.

According to Wikipedia, QR Codes are very popular in Japan. QR codes were invented in Japan back in 1994 where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional codes. It also makes sense that my green tea juice box had a QR label on it…Oishi is a Japanese company.

QR codes are often used on advertisements and product packaging so users can snap a photo with their cell phone or web cam and then use the Internet to research product information, promotions/discounts and any number of other things that consumers love so much. I decided to try this out for myself so I downloaded “QR Reader” for my iPhone.

I snapped a photo with my iPhone camera and loaded QR Reader. The app let you either take a picture directly from the app or to choose a saved photo. I selected the photo of the QR label. After a few seconds, the app spit out the following code: 8JZEPC

What does 8JZEPC mean? I was confused so I saved the information and decided to investigate further when I had access to high-speed Internet.

When I got home I went to the AR Code section of the Oishi website. Here’s what the site says:

“Oishi Green Tea invite you to a new experience in gaming. The first combining the best technology in 2010 AR Technology and Restaurant games online together. The first time you will play a restaurant owner. From Interior Design Shop Management with cool menu cooked from all over the world. Using AR Technology as part of the game. Code box beside Oishi Green Tea UHT Transmission via Web Camera Web site Oishi Green Tea. North imaginative fun creating a game full restaurant of the most innovative line of AR.”

Gotta love the translation of this. From what I gather, the code I received is part of a game. Here’s the official link to the QR game. You use this code in the online game/contest to further progress and ultimately win prizes. Pretty cool.

So it turns out that my iPhone read the QR correctly, it was just that instead of expecting a website to read more information about Oishi Green Tea, it was a code used as part of an online game. Go figure! Anyway, I have a good time investigating the technology and I highly recommend Oishi green tea.

5 Tips To Use New Technology To Boost Your Avon Sales

In 2012 there is a huge new market of people who are now using iPad, Kindle fire, iPhone and many types of tablets and internet connection devices. You must figure out how to reach these new techies and you need to do it before your competition does.

Tip 1: Can you put together 20-30 pages of information on your favorite Avon products and put them into a kindle Ebook? Sit some where quite and well lit and write a list of your favorite Avon products. Think about how you use them. Think about why you use them. Why do you think other people should use them? Put all your ideas on paper. Now put all your information together and put them into a PDF file and put it on kindle or give it away at free eBook websites. Make sure you put your web site address and all your contact information in your Ebook. If you take the time to write your Avon eBook it will bring more traffic to your web site. You should also put your eBook on your website as a free gift for people who join your online newsletter or your website. Your eBook could also be about why you think people should start their own Avon business. You could use this eBook to sign up new reps for your down line.

Tip 2: Get an I phone QR Code that directs people to go to your Avon web site. What is a QR code? A QR code is a bar code that can be scanned with a modern cell phone. The code is an interactive link. For example you see an ad in the newspaper and you scan the QR code icon and you will instantly get more information and a link to the product website. You can make one online for free go to google.com and type in “make a free QR Code”. Once you get your own QR code you should put it on all of your advertising media outlets.

Tip 3: Make your own I phone App. You can make an app online for free that you can resell or give it away for free. What kind of app can you make that pertains to your Avon business? Now go back to Tip 1 and see what eBook ideas you came up with. You could make an app about your favorite Avon products or you could make an app about moms that stay at home and work for themselves because of their Avon representative business. You are only limited by your own imagination. One of my favorite interactive app creation tools is Ibuildapp you can make a full app online for free with no coding skills needed. I love this program because honestly I am code illiterate. It is as simple as 1,2,3. Go to Google and type in “Ibuildapp”.

Tip 4: Build a new website to sign up new reps. You can get a blog online for free. If you do not have your own blog then you need to stop what you are doing right now and go get one! Blogs are mandatory for all businesses now. You should have two blogs one to up sell your Avon business and two for signing up new representatives. Your blog should be interactive and should have huge amounts of information about your company. Your second blog should offer great ideas that you use everyday for your Avon product sales. You must help your down line. Get them involved, help them sell more products. Our team meets once a week to discuss previous sales and new sales ideas. We do all kind of fundraisers and sales venues. I do a contest every month for the reps who sell the most products. And let me tell you they work hard for a pamper day and a 200 dollar gift card for Avon products. But this is how I show them I appreciate all their work and you should do something for your stellar reps as well.

Tip 5: This will be your most important tip. Don’t just think about new sales or rep sign ups. Get out there and make new sales happen. Sign up new reps and enjoy your wonderful Avon business. Teach others to sell Avon. Make your own team. Make more money and spend more time with your family. It is easy to day dream about making your business a complete success. It is harder to work at it but the reward is making your day dream into a reality and not just a day dream anymore. Do you want a new house? Do you want a new car? Do you want your family and friends to respect you as a business owner? Unfortunately no one is going to come to you tomorrow and just give you what you want. But you should be proud of yourself right now! You took the first step by starting your Avon business. And now you are responsible to make it a success. Get out there and make 2012 the year your dreams came true!
