Female Pattern Hair Loss – What Is the Best Hair Loss Treatment?

In any group of women aged 80 years, 55% will be suffering from significant scalp hair loss.

Thinning hair

Female pattern hair loss is often first noticed when the amount of hair falling out each day increases and this results in hair thinning all over the scalp.

The normal amount of hair shed in the course of a day is 50 – 100 hairs. Therefore, women over 50 who experience more than 100 hairs per day may be seeing the effects of FPHL.

What are the causes of 50+ female hair loss?

Scientists believe the causes of hair loss and alopecia in mature women may be linked to the genes we inherit from our parents. Most women with FPHL do not have a hormonal imbalance as the hair loss cause.

How long does it take for female hair loss to progress?

Most commonly it starts happening after the menopause and progresses in ‘fits and starts’. A noticeable increase may last for 3 – 6 months and then the amount may stabilize for between 6 – 18 months – until the hair growth cycle begins again. Without the best treatment,it usually progresses towards alopecia (baldness).

Chemical treatments for hair loss

FPHL cannot be cured. However, there are some very useful products on the market. By altering the balance of hormones produced in the body, they are able to prevent it from getting any worse, by slowing down or stopping the hair falling out.

Hormone blockers

Some treatments for mature women are based on drugs that block the production of certain hormones. These can be taken as tablets and combined with a hormone solution which is massaged into the scalp.

Hormone blocking treatments need to be followed for at least 6 months before they can start having any effect. This sort of treatment varies from country to country as per regulations. Long term medication is usually necessary to continue preventing hair loss. No products can guarantee to make hair grow faster or create thicker hair, but it has been clinically proved that some women do experience hair re-growth.

All hormonal treatments must be prescribed and supervised by a medical doctor.

Bald Spots Will Go Away When Properly Treated

One of the most unattractive things that can happen to a person is that of going bald. While some might have a gradual thinning take place that they can’t readily see at first, others end up losing hair that everyone notices fast. Bald spots can pop up out of nowhere sometimes and can be hard to treat.

Hair loss companies are profiting like crazy right now because so many are dealing with some type of hair loss situation that it seems like an epidemic. Hair falls out faster than it grows, so you have to be on guard in order to prevent further loss of it.

Your situation may appear hopeless but rest assure that it isn’t. Those days of going outside without a cap are still possible. You must know that there isn’t an overnight cure for baldness other than to cover it up with a toupee or a wig. Of course that probably isn’t something you really want to do right?

Getting hair filled in over those bald spots is a matter of getting more blood and nutrients to your follicles. There are two ways to do this that can be used in unison. First scalp massage has been an ancient way of ensuring continued healthy hair growth. Secondly getting the right nutrients into your body on a consistent basis has always been beneficial. Not only will it do your body good, but it will work wonders for your hair.

I’m not talking about eating healthier or anything like that. Rather there are specific nutrients that seem to just make hair grow much better and faster. Sort of like when you use a better grade of gas over another specific type. It just seems to make your vehicle run better.

So firstly scalp massage with the use of essential oils such as rosemary, lavender and jojoba oil are cheap and easy to use. Plus you only have to spend about 10 minutes of your time every other day using them. Be sure to work these deep into your balding areas with your fingertips.

Secondly getting nutrients into your body known to speed up the hair growth process is a must to fill in those bald spots with new hairs. Focus on plenty of vitamin B in the form of B3, B5, B6 and B12. If you’re a male undergoing male pattern baldness, never forget that herbal supplements called “dht blockers” such as saw palmetto, nettle root, ginkgo biloba and pumpkin seed will do your hair justice.

Micro Trimming Requires Extremely Sharp Hair Scissors

Is it really true that trimming your hair makes it grow faster? Is this a fact or is it just an old wives’ tale? Well, neither. Or both, depending on how you look at it. In some instances, trimming your hair on a regular basis will in fact increase its chances of growing longer and fuller. On the other hand, some people will not benefit at all from this regular snip snip every couple of months.

The average person experiences about 1/2 inch of growth per month. In addition, they lose up to 100 strands each month. It’s important to determine which type of hair you have in order to decide whether you should be doing a regular trim.

If your hair is losing length each month because the ends are breaking, you’re the type of person who will benefit from visiting hairdresser, and her hair scsissors, about once a month. When hair is not healthy, split ends happen easily and often. These ends will break off, causing it to seem as though it’s never growing. As your hair dresser to use high quality professional hair scissors to trim only the very ends of your hair and this should encourage healthy, happy growth. These are the people who view the “trimming will help your hair grow faster” idea as fact.

However, if your hair is healthy, you may being doing more damage than good with your trims. If you have few split ends and little breakage, trimming will likely cause more harm than good in your hair growing efforts. These are the people who view the “trimming will help your hair grow faster” idea as a myth.

If you and your hair dresser decide that you have split ends with lots of breakage, then regular trims are right for you. Talk to him or her about “micro-trimming” or “dusting” your ends. This is a process that can be done with an extremely sharp pair of hair scissors. The key is that they are very, very sharp and that they are scissors designed specifically for hair.

This trim removes less than 1/2 inch of hair with each snip. It is ideal for trimming split ends without losing length. No type of trimming will actually make hair follicles grow faster, but in some cases it can improve the appearance of hair and help extend the length by preventing breakage.

Laser Hair Removal Causing Hair To Grow Back Thicker

There are currently 2 known instances where there is a possibility that laser hair removal can make hair grow back thicker and darker than it was before treatment. Please keep in mind that one is preventable while the other is so rare, the chances of it happening are very small.

The first scenario can happen to anyone, though the majority of people that opt for laser treatment may not be aware of this risk prior to treatment. In order to perform laser hair removal, the technician will require you to shave the desired area a day or two prior to your appointment. The hair needs to be as short as possible, yet still be visible, in order for the laser to work to its full potential. Unfortunately, some areas that people want to have lasered, (such as the face and back), contain a mixture of the dark coarse hairs that they want gone and “peach fuzz” (the extremely fine and colorless hairs that cover a lot of our body). When shaving this area in preparation for laser treatment, the peach fuzz that is present also gets shaved. With shaving, hairs tend to grow back thicker, darker, and faster with every shave. The fine hairs that were once unnoticeable may now start to appear darker upon return, which can create the illusion that more hair is beginning to grow after having laser treatment.

The second instance is a medical condition called “paradoxical hypertrichosis”. It is a very rare reaction that can be experienced after laser hair removal treatment. As paradoxical hypertrichosis, (or postlaser hypertrichosis), is still a relatively new and extremely rare condition, there has not been a great deal of research done on the subject. It is difficult to determine what the exact cause of this phenomenon is. Some specialists suggest that this unwanted hair growth can be caused by extremely low intensity laser or IPL treatments at levels that are too low to be effective and actually end up stimulating new hair growth in the hair bulb as opposed to destroying the hair bulb completely. Others suggest that ethnic background may be a factor as research has found that this reaction tends to happen more in people with skin types 3, 4, and 5 (olive and darker skin) than it does in people with lighter skin. There is also the possibility that certain medication can increase the risk of paradoxical hypertrichosis if taken at the same time as the laser treatments. As you can see, sufferers of this condition are so few and far between that it is difficult to get a proper sampling.

Regardless of the suggested factors of paradoxical hypertrichosis, it is extremely important to find a laser technician that is skilled and qualified to perform your treatments. They need to be knowledgeable enough to determine the correct laser intensity setting for your particular hair and skin attributes. Too low can be ineffective and actually cause adverse effects. Intensity that is too high can cause side effects such as minor burns and skin discoloration. The perfect balance will safely and effectively remove your unwanted hair and make your laser hair removal experience a positive one.

Even though it is very rare that laser hair removal will make your hair grow back thicker, it has been known to happen in some cases. If you are concerned, or if you know that the area you want to have treated includes peach fuzz, perhaps a different method like electrolysis hair removal would be a better alternative for you. Electrolysis does not require you to shave prior to treatment so you do not run the risk of shaving over any peach fuzz and causing it to grow back thicker. Each hair is individually treated so you do not run the risk of any other area of your skin being treated other than where you want to be treated.

Simple Tips That Will Make Afro Hair Grow

African American hair has the distinction of being difficult to grow. This is inaccurate. The problem with growing a black mane is that the remedies and treatments often used rely too much on commercial hair products. These afro hair grow products often tend to do more harm than good. So in this article I will share certain tips that will help make a black mane grow fast.

When trying to grow afro hair, you should relax it every 4 weeks or so. If you do it more than this, it could cause breakage and do more damage to your hair than necessary.

Another way to make afro hair grow is to not wear braids. If the braids are too tight there will be hair loss due to the tightening and pulling on the hair.

Putting the least amount of stress on your hair is important if you want to make afro hair grow faster. If you decide to relax it use the most effective relaxer that will put the least amount of stress and damage on your hair. Women are finding though, if they relax their manes and wear braids at the same time, they will end up with thinner, weaker tresses. In order to compensate create a routine of using a moisturizing shampoo (avoid those with alcohol content, these lead to breakage), deep conditioning and hot oil treatments weekly.

For every day styling, use a leave in conditioners or pomade. Never use heavy greases like petroleum jelly on your mane as they will block the pores and can cause hair loss.

Another way to grow black hair is to keep it “un-relaxed.”. An un-relaxed mane, will give you the longest and strongest natural growing hair possible. Using the simplest care possible and the least amount of product on your tresses is the fastest way to grow a healthy mane.

Dreadlocks are also good way to make afro hair grow. Your tresses seem to grow faster with them and this could be because the hair you normally shed is often trapped inside giving your mane a longer look.

One of the best products on the market today for encouraging afro hair to grow is called Mira Oil. The product is all natural, containing natural oils and herbs which promote growth as well as encourage the development of new hair follicle development. Apply the oil onto the scalp and massage it in. allow the oil to sit in for 30 minutes and then wash out!

Take prenatal pills to help make afro hair grow! Prenatal pills provide all the vitamins and minerals you need for the development of a healthy mane!

Follow these simple, steps and no matter the state of your afro hair it will grow healthy, strong and longer

A Great Shampoo That Makes Your Hair Grow Faster

We all like to have fresh, clean hair and many will wash their hair on a daily basis to get the look. It is not a wise idea however to wash it every day as it strips your hair of its natural oils. The hair needs these oils in order to grow healthy and keep it strong.

While looking for the best shampoo to make your hair grow faster, try the hibiscus-based shampoo from Mira Herbals. Hibiscus flowers in fact are the only flower known to boost anagen or the growth phase of the hair by up to 30%. The best time to use hibiscus is when it is freshly extracted to get the most out of it.

The best shampoo to use to grow your hair fast is Maraby’s GRO shampoo, which is based on arjuvedic formula. An all-natural compound known for promoting hair growth, make sure your shampoo contains it.

Other helpful tips for promoting hair growth include

· Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water every day.

· Try to avoid eating any form of junk food, including fast food.

· Do not pull or tug on your hair. You could pull the hair out by the roots, or at the very least damage the root.

· Give your head a nice soothing massage every day. Flip your head upside down and massage under your hair at least twice a day.

· Try braiding your hair. This actually makes it stronger and helps it to grow faster too.

· you will want to make sure to give yourself a good trim every two to three months. This will help keep your hair neat and easier to maintain.

· Start taking vitamins daily, especially biotin. Vitamins keep you and your hair healthy and helps your hair grow.

· Wash your hair every other day instead of every day. Keep the natural oils on your head instead of washing them away.

· Do not style your hair with heated tools like curling irons and blow dryers. The heat will only succeed in damaging the fragile hair.

· Maintain a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables every day.

· Add almonds, peanuts and vitamin C to your diet.

· Put your hair into a ponytail a couple times a week. This really does help your hair grow faster, as well as protects it.

· Get enough protein in your diet. Hair is mostly made up of protein so this is an important tip.

· Make sure you are getting enough sleep every night, 8 hours for the best results.

· Start an exercise program on a daily basis. Not only is getting your body moving good for your health, it’s good for hair growth.

· Don’t over diet. Avoid dramatic weight loss by eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and other nutrition-filled foods.

· Stress can make your hair start to fall out, so relax and give yourself a break more often.

· Finally, use Mira hair oil and shampoo for faster hair growth. It’s easy to find on the web

And there you have it a few proven ways to makes your hair grow faster

Tips to Achieve Faster Black Hair Growth

Many African American females believe their hair grows slower than other ethnicities. Since our hair is tight and coily, it appears that the hair is growing at a slower pace. Here are a few tips on how African Americans can grow their hair faster.

One of the supplements that I love to use is MSM. Your hair is primarily composed of sulfur and protein (keratin). Adding more sulfur to your body with supplements like Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), is a way to increase hair growth. Sulfur is known as the “beauty mineral.” Not only will this supplement grow your hair faster, but you also will see longer, stronger nails and glowing skin.

Bee Pollen

Bee pollen is another supplement that will help grow your hair faster. Be cautious with bee pollen and before using it make sure you are not allergic to it! If you are allergic, ingestion may result in a severe allergic reaction, including anaphylaxis, and an acute allergic response that may be life threatening. Do not take bee pollen if you are pregnant. Bee pollen has been used to stimulate hair growth because of its rich l-cysteine content. Many have seen one inch of hair growth within three weeks. It has been found that hair effectively grows back because of pollen. Bee pollen contains calcium and magnesium that help aid hair growth. Bee pollen has several other nutrients including vitamin C that maintains healthy hair, vitamin E and vitamin B3 that benefits and improves scalp circulation, copper, vitamins B5, B6, B12 and iron that strengthens hair and prevents hair loss. Manganese improves hair growth, while potassium promotes circulation and sulfur creates stronger hair.

Scalp Massage

Massage your scalp daily. Stimulation increases blood circulation to your head. Circulation is an important element that promotes hair growth. Massaging your scalp with the tips of your fingers will bring more nutrients to the hair roots. Adding warm oil will enhance the blood circulation. Massage your scalp 5-10 minutes a day using slow circular motions.

Inversion Method

You can grow an inch of hair in a week with the inversion method. The inversion method should be done for seven consecutive days, once a month. You must wait three weeks before attempting again or else it won’t work because your body adjusts to the extra blood flow. First, massage warm oil into your scalp. I recommend Jamaican Castor Oil. Massage your scalp for five minutes; oil is not necessary for the inversion method to work. Next, invert your body into an angle for four minutes. I like to do the yoga pose, downward facing dog, but you can also sit in a chair and slightly lower your head. If you feel dizzy or abnormal, slowly get out of the position. If you do decide to use oil, let the oil sit on your scalp for two hours; you can wash it out or leave it on your scalp. The inversion method will boost blood circulation, which ultimately promotes hair growth. Check with your doctor before doing the inversion method.

Your diet is important for hair growth. If you include these vitamins and minerals daily you will see faster hair growth.

Iron and Zinc help hair follicles to grow. Iron and/or zinc deficiency can lead to hair loss. Hair is primarily composed of keratin which is protein. You can get iron and protein from red meat, chicken and fish. You can also get iron from spinach and other leafy vegetables including kale. Oysters and pumpkin seeds are loaded with zinc. If like me you are not getting enough zinc, you can take a zinc supplement. I take Zinc picolinate 50mg.

Vitamin D helps activate hair growth. Salmon has vitamin D and protein. Salmon also has omega-3 fatty acids that provides the oils that keep your scalp and hair hydrated. You also can get omega-3 fatty acids from avocados and flax seeds.

Biotin deficiency has been linked to hair loss and poor hair growth. Nuts like almonds and walnuts are a great source of biotin. Other foods with biotin include brown rice, eggs, green peas, lentils and oats.

Vitamin A is essential for hair growth and a healthy scalp. Vitamin A makes sebum which is an oily substance that provides a conditioner for the scalp. Beta-carotene makes vitamin A which is found in vegetables such as sweet potatoes, carrots and broccoli.

Vitamin E will enhance blood flow to the scalp and promote faster hair growth. Sunflower seeds and nuts provide you with vitamin E.

Drinking water is important in keeping your hair hydrated. Water flushes out toxins and helps in getting more nutrition to the hair follicles. Your hair will become dry and brittle without an adequate amount of water. Water provides the necessary nutrients to the hair cells.

Exercise is an important factor for hair growth. Sweating from exercising helps unclog hair follicles, providing space for hair to grow. Exercising also increases blood flow to the scalp which delivers more nutrients and oxygen to the hair roots. This helps to promote hair growth.

Deep conditioning

The number one hair problem African Americans have is length retention. Deep conditioning restores and maintains the strength of the hair strand. Deep conditioning improves elasticity, restores moisture, and makes your hair softer and more manageable. Adding heat to the deep conditioner helps to penetrate the conditioner in the strands better. Pay special attention to the ends which needs the most conditioner. Do a deep conditioner once a week for 15-20 minutes.

Protective and low-manipulation hairstyles

Protective and low-manipulation hairstyles protect your hair from environmental damage and damage from yourself. Examples of protective hairstyles include braids, weaves, and wigs. Low manipulation hairstyles include twist, braid-outs and buns. Protective and low-manipulation hairstyles help to prevent damage to your ends, it gives your hair a break from heat and styling and provides your hair with the opportunity to grow.

African American hair is dry and fragile. This makes our hair more susceptible to breakage, which is the reason why it appears that our hair is not growing. It is important to moisturize your hair daily to seal in moisture. Moisturizing does not make hair grow faster but it does help retain the length of the hair.

Go natural, don’t use chemicals

Relaxed hair is weaker than natural hair. Lye relaxers are made up of Sodium Hydroxide, a strong chemical also used in drain cleaners. No-Lye relaxers are made up of Guanidine Hydroxide. Relaxers are able to straighten kinky hair because they break the bonds that actually give strength to the hair. Relaxers ultimately lead to brittleness, breakage, and even alopecia. The relaxer cream breaks down the chemical bonds of the hair shaft, disrupting the elliptical shape. The chemicals in relaxers dry out the hair and damage the ends of the hair. Relaxers promote split ends and stunt hair growth. Join the natural hair movement and go natural.

If you use these tips, not only will you see faster hair growth, but you also will have glowing skin and strong nails.

How to Make Hair Grow Faster Naturally and See Results Within 12 Weeks!

How to make hair grow faster naturally Is not as difficult as the hair loss experts want you to believe!

How many people do you know, especially men; that have areas of peach fuzz or thinning hair in places where traditional male pattern baldness occurs?

Maybe that’s you!

If you have that thinning peach fuzz (or thinning hair) and you’re trying to use it to cover your scalp so it doesn’t shine in the sunlight; there is a way to make that hair grow and make it grow fast!

Those remnants of peach fuzz have roots that supply those thinning hairs and are salvageable! In fact, new hair is possible in those areas.

My friend, I know you don’t hear such positive comments from the experts. But that’s because they can make more money selling overpriced pharmaceuticals than selling an inexpensive, simple and natural solution.

There are natural hair loss alternatives that work better than those so-called breakthrough-bottled-up-potions! And it doesn’t include side effects!

When I was experiencing extreme hair loss I was following in my father’s and grandfather’s footsteps. I never knew my grandfather without a toupee and my father already lost half of his hair before he turned 48.

I was only about 44 years old when I started losing hair. Before I was 46 I was on the verge of being halfway bald on top and had a large bald spot in back!

Just by using basic natural hair loss techniques, my hair in back was restored 100%! My hair filled in significantly on top and my receding hairline in front experienced new hair growth!

I’m speaking from experience when I say there are ways how to make hair grow faster naturally!

It can be done without pharmaceutical side effects, without thousands of dollars invested and with reasonable amount of effort.

Although there is no one way to make your hair grow faster; if I were to choose one main strategy, it would have to include this!

If you are desperate like I was, you want to know how to make your hair grow as fast as possible!

My hair was rapidly receding halfway up my head and I also had a reasonably large bald spot forming in back. In less than 12 weeks I was growing new hairs and noticing my thinning hair was volumizing!

If you have thinning hair and similar peach fuzz on your scalp, it is not impossible to turn that weak hair into normal hair in less than 12 weeks. You can also cause hair loss to stop.

The hair loss medical community wants you to believe that most baldness is hereditary.

However, I want to share with you what natural hair growth experts have used to grow new hair follicles that are actually dormant beneath the scalp.

Because of various reasons which cause wax clogged pores, normal hair growth is prevented.

Of course, how much hair regrowth each person experiences will be different. There is no promise for total hair restoration, but if you have any thinning hair or peach fuzz you can grow hair too, just like I did!

Also, lifestyle and health is a significant contributing factor in natural hair regrowth.

That’s right!

Basically, the average diet, especially in the Western world of processed and fast food, does not include adequate amounts of nutrition to produce good skin, hair and nails! My friend, I know you think that answer is too simple!

But before you turn me off I recommend you keep on reading! You have nothing to lose but more hair!

That is why even children’s hair loss is increasing at alarming rates!

If you will notice in countries that have extreme poverty, the children will often be ball headed, in addition to their normal signs of starvation and malnutrition.

Their frail little bodies are trying to use every ounce of energy to support their vital organs before it ever has a chance to supply nutrition to their hair.

Believe it or not, the same result of extreme hair loss is in communities that have an abundance of food!

Although the Western world has an over abundance of food; the food has very little nutrition. You might think a $1.99 TV dinner is a great steal at the grocery market, however; in many cases if you eat the box you probably will get more nutrition than what is inside!

Our processed food is packed with fillers and chemicals and very little nutrition. Subsequently, the result is people becoming overweight and trying to stuff themselves with more food that has less nutrition.

That’s why you can eat a supersized-fast-food meal and not become satisfied! Of course, being overweight is another story.

So what do you do to stop your hair loss? First, you can just write it off as hereditary and believe there’s no hope! On the other hand, if you would realize that most hair loss is from a nutritional deficiency, it probably can easily be solved!

The main source of my hair restoration that made my hair grow fast and naturally had to do with making sure my body received the specific nutrition that would trigger hair regrowth.

This included a deliberate diet that contained a supercharged source of protein! This might sound simple, but I guarantee it works!

Not only was this a major cause in stopping my hair loss; my peach fuzz began to turn into normal hair and I began growing new hair in areas of extreme hair loss.

If there’s only one thing you do to make your hair grow faster, a supercharged source of protein should be the first thing you do!

In about 40 days I began to detect noticeable improvements in my hair volume and in less than 12 weeks I began to see new peach fuzz growing that has resulted in new hair growth.

Because protein is so important for building muscles, nails, skin and hair, without it you do not have the building blocks for healthy hair, much less new hair restoration!

It is my belief that the majority of hair loss sufferers lack protein in their diet. This in itself can be your source of extreme baldness.

Hair without protein is like a plant that is never watered! It has absolutely no chance of survival. A good weekly protein intake is vital to hair health.

This is extremely important for those of us at the age where natural hair regrowth is slowing down. Visit your local health food store and find good hair protein shakes and products that will help make your hair grow faster naturally. Also consult your doctor of any dietary changes you consider making.

Also you can get protein in your diet by eating three or four servings of beans every week. However, for some, the gaseous results can have side effects on your friends!

Do not try to make red meat your weekly three to four servings. Too much red meat is not good for hair nutrition as well as regular health reasons.

But for the best results, a pure high-powered protein shake is best.

In addition to taking a good high-powered protein shake, make sure you address lifestyle and nutritional habits that will also have effect on your hair health.
