A multiband crystal set receiver (crystal radio) I built. The design of the case was inspired by old English crystal sets while the circuit was based on a unique Australian design of 1932. The set covers long wave, medium wave (AM broadcast), and shortwave. The external Philmore crystal detector is a dummy as there are 1N34A’s inside that do the work. For the wooden case, I repurposed old quarter sawn oak hardwood flooring (purchased from a demolition salvage store), gluing the pieces to require sizes.
